Wondrous Warsaw

Now some of you might be wondering about the title names I give my posts. Is Krakow really captivating? Budapest… brilliant? Really? Well how about Perfectly Prague. How can Prague be perfect?

Easy!

The saying goes, “The beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. This was originally used by the author Margaret Wolfe Hungerford for her book ‘Molly Bawn’ in 1878. The exact origin of the phrase is unknown though, as different forms have been used since the 3rd century BC when it was used by the Greeks.

Captivating Krakow

After our long day at Auschwitz, we drove to Krakow Poland which took about an hour and it was time to unwind from what we had just experienced. It was time for some FOOD!

But, before we headed down to the old centre, we needed a place to stay. We drove around for just a little bit and found a hotel that had been converted from a college dormitory. I was a little skeptical at first, but it turned out to be a pretty great place! I told Paul that if we had to share a bathroom with anyone it was a no go! But they had rooms with private bathrooms so we decided to settle in! To this day we still tell stories of this place, it was great!

Regrets in Slovakia

Okay, so up next on our journey is the splendid country of Slovakia. After a great day in Budapest, we took to the streets again for a 2 hour ride to the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava. Now this was never an intended stop on our route, but we figured as long as we were seeing the capitals in each country we were in, we might as well hit another one on our way back to Poland.

Brilliant Budapest…

We arrived in the grand city of Budapest last at night, so first things first, it was time to get a room. Now not doing my research like I normally do when visiting places like this, I was finding it odd that everywhere we were looking only had the “Buda” name attached to it… Weren’t we in Buda”pest”? Ahhhh! The answer to my question was about to be told to us as soon as we sat down to dinner! Here is a quick look across the street from our home for the night!

The one and only, Vienna

After it was time to say goodbye to The Czech Republic and the amazing city of Prague, it was time to take on the 4 hour drive to Wein (Vienna), Austria. Now as most of you have heard, Vienna and the whole of Austria is supposed to be a beautiful place to see. When we arrived in the city, we had a good portion of the day left to get some sites in, but our first order of business was to drive around and look for a room!
